The "Ur-Kasnudel" comes from Upper Carinthia: The first written record of the preparation of the famous Carinthian pasta comes from Spittal an der Drau. Back then, Kasnudel was always served on Wednesdays and Fridays in the "Hospital Spittl", a hostel for hikers and the poor.
